More Finished Projects
I made a hat to match the gray longies:

I made a crib bumper:

I made a second pair of pants:

I’m working on crib skirt, dishcloths for mom, finishing my newborn diaper stash, a hat to match the second pair of pants, maybe a few wool soakers with the leftover yarn scraps.
Pants are finished!

The pants were finally finished on Monday Night. I have plans for a matching hat and perhaps some mittens if I can figure those out. I also am going to make some accessories out of a grayish fabric with little green, blue and browns owls on it. Perhaps some booties and a shirt. We’ll see what I can do with the piece that is on it’s way to me!
Almost done!
Well It took me a bit to get this far. I had to stop when I split the body into two legs becuase I didn’t have the right size needle. SO I ordered it on EBay. And the seller sent me the wrong size needle….so I had to contact them, yada, yada, send it back and wait for the new, new one.
Anyways, I finished one whole leg today! Trying to get the other leg done tommorrow!!

What I’m doing inbetween other things right now.
I’m trying to make a pair of PickyPants. I’ve traded for two pairs already. And purchased a third pair. But I really want to learn how to make them myself. So don’t know how to knit. I’ve never made anything, seriously I haven’t….so I am learning as I make these pants. Here is where I am at thus far. I’ve cast on, done 3 rows of ribbing, 1 row of eyelet, 4 rows or ribbing, 1 row of increases, and 5 rows of stockinette. I have to have 28 rows of stocknette in place before I’m at the crotch! This takes awhile! But it’s a great money saver. Seriously. The yarn was 3.99 for this project (not on sale), I’ve seen these pants go for $30, $40, $50….and up. So, it def. saves money. Not time though. Here is my progress picture thus far:
Didn’t think I would finish both in one afternoon.
But I did! Scratch those curtains off my to-do list. Woo hoo. Mind the sewing junk and drinks laying around.
You can’t really tell from the photo but the green stripe on the bottom is basically the same exact color as the walls.
Baby’s got “a” curtain…
Finally I was able to get started on the some sewing for the baby’s room. I got one of the valence’s done this morning. I am working on teh second now, but needed a little break. I’m sewing the curtains, crib skirt, crib bumper, crib quilt, 8 slipcovers for storage crates, and with my extra fabric I plan on doing a throw blanket for the rocker (or a pillow, depending how much is left) and maybe some calico stuffed animals made with the same fabrics. Hopefully, well that’s the plan. So here is the singular valence. I will post mor photos as the other pieces come together.
My cat is a freaking model and other stuff.
If you remember my Christmas Portraits of Johnny Cash, you will remember what the camera ham he has grown up to be. Seriously though. This takes the cake. Rob found a Johnny Cash t-shirt on clearance at Walmart last night for $3.00, he carried it around the store till he found me and said, “too bad this is a small, I wanted to wear it” so of course I replied ” I’ll make him a cape! No, I’ll make a Johnny Cash Diaper for the baby!!”
So, being a rather large design, I couldn’t use a newborn, or even a small diaper pattern. So I decided to use the Little Comet Tails One Size Pattern that fits 8-35 pounds. Which I must say, was the best idea becuase I think it will be a very sad, sad day when we have to retire the Johnny Cash diaper. So I cut it all out with an evil cat watching nearby. Took this picture to show the world, the awesomeness this will become (and to give you a baby bump sneak peek–bottom of picture)….

And guess who jumps in to pose with “his” diaper… Seriously. I don’t know what is up with him laying in perfect poses and making the lighting look so good and making my blanket look like a back drop but seriously. I thought it was cute enough to write a blog post about…so here he is:

After grabbing this shot, I went to reach for my DSLR, to only find the battery dead. Bummer.
Young Lady Sitting Saturday!
Rachel, my little 5 year old cousin, and I are blogging about the dress we just made! I am watching Rachel for the morning while her family is at at Itty Btty Baseball. Rachel came in wearing a cute little sundress and I knew I had some awesome Alexander Henry Fabric in teh closet…so, one hour later…look what we made!

We used her dressa as a pattern, she wore one of Rob’s Under shirts until it was traced. Then we trace, cut and pinned and sewed it all up! Doesn’t it look great! Check out the whole session here–> Rachel’s New Dress!
Sunday…
I’ve been doing alot of sewing latley….which is my goal. I need to get my fabric stash under control. It’s literally taking up an entire dresser and half a double wide closet. Ya….so on with the show…Small Trimsies Horse Diaper with Matching Diaper Cover.
